He did it!

Congratulations to Andy Krone, who won 21 Gold points at Marco island to become our newest Life Master. We're all very happy for you, Andy.

In Memoriam

With heavy hearts, we say goodbye to a favorite son: Dan Palmer suffered a fatal heart attack on Sunday, September 23. A newly-wed husband, a father, a friend and partner to so many of us--how we will miss that unique warmth and lop-sided grin.

In Dan's memory, let us make a renewed commitment to strengthen our bonds of community, for it is only with the support of friends that we can bear such tragedy.

Notice

Beginning Monday, Sept. 24, the director will no longer be able to fill in as partner except in small games (around 10 tables or fewer).  If you need a partner, please call the director as far ahead of time as possible. Thank you.

In Memoriam

I was saddened to hear of the recent death of Ed Miles. I didn't know him very well, but I have pleasant memories of his ready smile, the pride he took in his baking skills, and his many years of service to our bridge community.

Ed's death reminds me that we have so few opportunities to show appreciation for one another. It would be a nice a tribute to his memory if we would make the most of every chance we have to demonstrate kindness and concern for those around us. A smile or a word of encouragement  can make a big difference in anyone's life.                                                                                                            --D.B

Thank you!

I would like to thank everyone who helped out during Silver Week, and especially those who assisted with directing and scoring: Betty, Phyllis, Nancy, and Hazel.--Diane

The Hazel Anderson Memorial Award  for Congeniality was presented to Betty Sievers. Bev Jones had established the award in January to honor her long-time friend and partner. Betty received the greatest number of votes as the player who has consistently demonstrated the qualities of warmth and service to our bridge community.  Congratulations to Betty on this fine achievement.
